Can I share the GiveButter and RISE Scholars profile pages?Yes! We work with RISE Scholars to ensure they are comfortable with the information they provide on their profile pages. -
What is the duration of the RISE Scholars award?RISE Scholars are selected in June, in preparation for the school year ahead. The scholarship period is one year from the date of selection. Scholarships are not automatically renewed, but the Scholar who wishes to continue will be considered for subsequent awards per reevaluation requirements – including evidence of continued enrollment, continued interest, and other relevant documentation. The GiveButter page will remain open for as long as the Scholar continues with the program. Donors are encouraged to support and check in for updates on the Scholar’s profile pages.
-
Why is RISE Scholars both a scholarship award and crowd-funding campaign? We want to go beyond the $1,000 scholarship amount and grow the potential size of each Scholar’s award by inviting the community to invest in their journey. We believe the process of safely sharing the Scholar’s story will increase awareness about the North Korean refugees resettlement experience and invite the larger community to support them with prayer, encouragement, and financial support. We hope this program will help them develop a sense of agency and empowerment, as well as experience the blessing of community support and accountability.
