Our Programs

We outreach primarily to North Korean refugees resettled across the U.S.

We partner strategically with missionaries and organizations around the world to impact some of the most marginalized North Korean refugees and communities overseas.

Hope Village is the umbrella term that encompasses all our refugee outreach efforts. We provide educational resources,  career mentorship opportunities, translation services, and care packages to North Korean families across the United States.

Thank you for your amazing support for Backpack Project 2023! With your support we were able to support and encourage North Korean refugee students and families in our networks across the U.S. as they returned to school!

This program was launched in 2014 to encourage refugee students and families for the upcoming back-to-school season. Backpacks stuffed with school supplies, snacks, and encouragement notes were sent to all students from Pre-K to graduate students each summer until the COVID-19 pandemic.

The program was modified to provide Amazon e-giftcards to meet with diverse and unpredictable challenges for students across the nation. This program continues to outreach to students of all ages. Help make a lasting impact in the education and development of refugee students.

Box of Hope was one of PSALT’s earliest outreach programs initiated in 2011 to reach North Korean individuals and families throughout the country during the Christmas holiday season. Holidays are some of the loneliest times for those missing and unable to reach loved ones, particularly when trying to thrive in a new environment.

PSALT continues to send care packages, Christmas cards, and Amazon e-gift cards to the refugees during the Christmas holiday. Contributing financially, sending handwritten Christmas cards, donating small gift items, and spreading the word about Box of Hope are some of the ways to make a difference in the lives of the refugees during the holidays. Consider gathering to write Christmas cards together among your friends, family, church group, or organization to make an impact in a fun and festive way!

For our 2023 Box of Hope project we kindly ask that Christmas cards and donations be sent to us by December 1st. Please visit the below links for more information and contact us with any questions. Thank you!

Exodus encompasses our rescue efforts in multiple regions overseas, often focusing on some of the most vulnerable and critical emergency cases.

We work with longstanding, capable, and trustworthy rescue partnerships that serve with integrity and a sense of mission to preserve the dignity of each person we serve. We are thankful to continue our efforts despite the extreme challenges of the CoVid-19 pandemic.

PSALT Korea is our partnership with organizations in South Korea working with some of the most marginalized communities, including children of trafficking victims and single parents.

Our research into the defector community in South Korea also raises the compelling need to invest in the futures of North Korean defectors striving to achieve advanced degrees to break through the social ceiling and make an impact in their communities -- with hopes to someday be at the forefront of change in a free North Korea.
